Policy

Our aim for Geography is for children to learn about the world around them. This is in terms of physical aspects (countries, formation of a range of physical features) and also to form an understanding of people and places. We take on an enquiry based approach where our children investigate the physical and human features through a range of sources and information. This approach enables our children to understand the world that is around them and the range of experiences people across the world live in.

19.10.21 Geography - Local Walk

In Year 1, the children have been learning about their local area in Rugby. As part of the unit, they have looked at maps of Rugby and the UK. They have planned routes to school from different places. They have located places on maps. They have looked at different landmarks including different types of houses. To finish off their learning, the class went on a walk around the local area. They observed and recorded different landmarks they came across.
