Impact

Our children value Art and Design. Children use technical knowledge and vocabulary and are able to apply the skills and processes they have been taught. Teachers use art in other areas of the curriculum to improve children’s enquiry about the world around them, alongside tangible, visual and sensory experiences. As the children progress through the school, they become competent in reflecting upon their own work and the work of others. Our Art and Design curriculum aids our children in developing their perseverance. We continuously promote art as a form of self-expression and strive to remove a perfectionist view. They are consistently challenged and provided with opportunities to evaluate their work. Our children are happy and confident to talk about their art work and their learning. They are able to express their feelings, ideas and experiences. Children are enthused by visits from local artists and are motivated in their own learning.
