Year 1

Welcome to Year 1. The teacher is Miss Margrie.
Picture 1

Hello Year 1,

How are you all? Did anyone manage to see the International Space Station in the sky? What a wonderful thing! I hope you have all been enjoying the weather as much as me.

I now have access to a class E-mail account for the duration of school closures. You will be able to contact me directly and send me any work completed rather than posting on Facebook (SMB Noticeboard, Year 1 Connect Group) if you prefer. The email address is: SMBYear1@welearn365.com

I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,

Miss Margrie

Supporting documents for this week (18th May) can be found below the following text.

You can now find a phonics resource page on our school website: https://www.st-matthewsbloxam.co.uk/phonics/ This contains key vocabulary, a video on how to say each of the sounds and some activities. Please check it out.

MATHS

Our school maths scheme (Power Maths) have created a summer term addition of the resources we use in class. When we return to school, our plan is to use this block of learning as they have condensed all the work down into 10 weeks, which will ensure children are prepared for next year. I am sharing this with you as you might like to start accessing the learning. You will need to agree to the terms and conditions first, then click on the Power Maths Year 1 icon. This will take you to 3 book options, click on the 'Summer Home Edition' book. The book is designed to be followed in order.

St. Matthews and St. Oswald's Church

Jane from St. Matthew and St. Oswald's Church has written some James and Grandad puppet scripts around COVID-19 where James is having Zoom chats with Grandad. You can find them on their own YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0Nvh9INr2oT8hX_oUgfFrQ   as well as the church one: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC27X5kQfYHzagmI1KZAHemg .

Home Learning - Easter Holidays

Hello everyone,

It has been lovely seeing what you have all been up to over the last two weeks on our Facebook page. Go to SMB Noticeboard and search for 'SMB Y1 Connect Group'. Please continue to send in pictures, videos and messages.

Parents, if you know of any other families in the class who aren't on the group already, please share the link with them. It would be great to hear from the whole class!

Below is a document to help keep you busy over the Easter holidays.

Take care, Miss Margrie
