I would like to wish you all a wonderful Summer holiday and all the best as you enter Year One.
Take care always, Miss Angliss.
Welcome to Reception.
From Monday 29th June, we are so excited because the children that were in Rainbow and Dream Bubbles are coming back together as the Reception Rainbow Bubble. This will be with Miss Angliss and Mrs. S. Wilson. Please come to the usual Reception entrance to drop off and collect your child. Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday.
Whilst school is closed, please come and join us on our private Facebook page. Just search for SMB Noticeboard and click on Reception to join.
If you have any queries or prefer to send your child's work directly to me, please e-mail: SMBReception@welearn365.com
Take care, stay alert, and have lots of fun learning, Miss Angliss
St. Matthews and St. Oswald's Church
Jane has written some James and Grandad puppet scripts around COVID-19 where James is having Zoom chats with Grandad. If they are of any use to you, we have put them on their own YouTube channel:

Half Term Activities
Here is a list of activities that you may like to try over the Half-term holiday.
Have fun and stay safe, Miss Angliss
Supporting documents for this week (18th May) can be found below the following text.
You can now find a phonics resource page on our school website: https://www.st-matthewsbloxam.co.uk/phonics/
This contains key vocabulary, a video on how to say each of the sounds, and some activities. Please check it out.
The school maths scheme (Power Maths) have created a Summer Term addition of the resources we use in class. When we return to school, our plan is to use this block of learning as they have condensed all the work down into 10 weeks, which will ensure children are prepared for next year. I am sharing this with you as you might like to start accessing the learning. You will need to agree to the terms and conditions first, then click on the Power Maths Year 0 icon. This will take you to the Power Maths Year 0 book. The book is designed to be followed in order.
The supporting documents for the home learning grid (20th April) can be found below in the following text.
BBC Bitesize is also doing some live lessons starting on Monday. If you look at Year 1, there are some suitable activities to use for Reception. Follow this link to access them: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons
White Rose has made some amazing home learning lessons. They are specific to each year group (Reception up to Year 8) and they have a video that explains the concept, questions for the children to complete and the answers. They are a series of five maths lessons and they will be adding five more each week for the next few weeks.
Use the link below to access the lessons.
real PE at home - online learning resources
real PE at home includes an online programme which supports families to be active, play and learn together. It includes a programme specifically for children in Early Years, KS1 and KS2. It is based around 12 themes with lots of activities and challenges to entertain you and your family for hours.
There are so many benefits to being active, not only to our physical wellbeing but also to our emotional and mental health, especially during these testing times.

It has been great seeing what you have been up to over these last two weeks on our Facebook page. I have loved seeing your photos and messages. Please continue to send them in or if you prefer not to post your child then email the office: firstname.lastname@example.org and put Reception in the subject box.
Parents, if you know of any other families in the class who aren't in the Facebook group, please share the link with them. It would be wonderful to hear from the whole class!
